Four-star WR Jaquaize Pettaway picks Oklahoma over Texas

Four-star wide receiver Jaquaize Pettaway is taking his talents to Oklahoma.

Four-star wide receiver Jaquazie Pettaway is taking his talents to Oklahoma for his college career.

The Houston product ranks as the No. 8 player in the state of Texas and the No. 47 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports composite.

Pettaway’s speed and athleticism make him a matchup nightmare for opposing secondaries. He has tallied up 105 receptions for nearly 1,800 yards and 16 touchdowns over his high school career.

Losing out on a player of Pettaway’s caliber is a blow for the Texas staff, especially when the Horns will face him every season while at Oklahoma.

The good news is Texas remains in great shape at the wide receiver position. Brennan Marion already has five-star Johntay Cook and four-stars Ryan Niblett and Jonah Wilson into the fold.
