It was a massive weekend on the Forty Acres for Steve Sarkisian and his staff.
Not only did Texas host over a dozen highly rated recruits for an official visit, the Longhorns landed a total of five commitments on Sunday alone. Meaning over the span of four days, Sarkisian received commitments from Arch Manning, Liona Lefau, Andre Cojoe, Jonah Wilson, Jaydon Chatman, Connor Stroh and Trevor Goosby.
Although it sounds crazy, the dominos are just beginning to fall. Many other top prospects in the 2023 class are heavily leaning towards Texas, including Cedric Baxter Jr. and Johntay Cook. Texas is also making a strong push for five-star linebacker Anthony Hill, who was present in Austin over the weekend.
Needles to say, Texas skyrocketed up the 2023 recruiting class rankings over the weekend to the No. 5 class in the country. With more commitments looming in the near future, Sarkisian’s staff has to be pleased with how this cycle is panning out up to this point.
