LSU adds an infielder transfer from the Big 12

The Tigers added an experienced player in Jack Pineda.

I have written quite a few articles about LSU losing infielders to the transfer portal, but this time the tables have turned.

The Tigers are on the benefitting end this time as [autotag]Jack Pineda[/autotag], a sophomore from Baylor, announced that he is taking his talents to Baton Rogue.

Pineda spent last year at second base and shortstop for the Bears. In his two years at Baylor, Pineda had a .313 batting average with 31 doubles, eight triples, 11 homers, and 68 RBI. He wasn’t too shabby with the leather, either, as he had a fielding percentage of 96%. This guy definitely gets a seal of approval as a great choice for next year’s team.

After seeing quite a large exodus of infield depth, adding a versatile player with quite a bit of experience like Pineda is a welcome change, and he’ll give this team yet another extremely talented piece in the second season under coach [autotag]Jay Johnson[/autotag].
