The Buffalo Bills have full attendance as their 2022 mandatory minicamp begins on Tuesday in Orchard Park.
That, according to Buffalo head coach Sean McDermott. He confirmed it prior to the team’s workout via video conference.
Specifically, McDermott said safety Jordan Poyer was there.
Over the past few weeks, Buffalo’s spring practices were considered OTAs (organized team activities). Such workouts are voluntary and the 30-year-old had decided not to attend.
Poyer skipped out because of his known desire to sign a new contract with the team.
That has yet to come about, but Poyer showing up, even if he just watches and does not physically practice, is likely a good sign. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported earlier this week that Poyer planned to be at the workouts and added that there has been “communication” between Poyer’s reps and the team as of late.
Poyer’s current contract expires following this season.
Regardless of how much Poyer partakes in practice, McDermott still said he’s happy the player made it out.
“It’s good to see his face on a personal level, and then just get him around the team,” the coach said.
