When the New York Giants selected Kayvon Thibodeaux and Evan Neal in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, they did so with the hope that both would become game-changing players in the immediate and long-term.
The Thibodeaux pick was a fan favorite at No. 5 overall because he is both marketable and one of the more exciting first round picks across the league. He’s also an early favorite to win rookie of the year. What wasn’t known was the impact Thibodeaux would have in the overseas market.
Turns out that also ended up as a checkmark for the Giants. Thibodeaux’s No. 5 has landed on the list of top-10 jersey sales in the UK.

Thibodeaux, Russell Wilson (3) and Devante Adams (7) are all new faces in new places which likely assisted in their place on the chart. It should come as no surprise the top six are all quarterbacks and some of the best in the league.
Thibodeaux stands as the only rookie, the only Giant and only defensive player to make the list.
Certainly, there are many reasons that Thibodeaux spot on the list is impressive and noteworthy. For starters, when the Giants announced the rookie jersey numbers, they didn’t announce Thibodeaux’s number due to the fact that he was negotiating getting No. 5 from Graham Gano, so his jersey sales likely got off to a late start.
The high rate of Thibodeaux’s jersey sales were likely enhanced due him being a Giant and the Giants playing in London this year against the Green Bay Packers n October 9th.
It’s also interesting to think, just a few short years ago Thibodeaux wouldn’t have been able to wear No. 5. That, of course, changed in recent years when the NFL relaxed their jersey positions restrictions.
Hopefully for the Giants, Thibodeaux is just as good as his popularity worldwide.
