Oklahoma Softball has become a sight to behold. Must-see television every time they take the field. They proved it once again on Sunday, beating the Texas A&M Aggies 20-0.
It was a record-setting day for Oklahoma, which set a new mark for the biggest win in NCAA tournament history and a new school record for most shutouts in a season. And there’s still much more to the 2022 season for this team.
Jocelyn Alo hit the 115th home run of her career and Nicole May pitched 4.1 shutout innings for her second win of the weekend. She allowed just two hits on the day, giving the Aggies no hope for a comeback from the jump.
It was about as perfect of a day as the Sooners could draw up on Sunday to clinch their 12th straight Super Regionals appearance.
“Yeah, very proud of this team today. This is probably one of our best, complete efforts in all phases of our game top to bottom,” said the media via Joey Helmer of OUInsider. Fans were on fire. I was [impressed]. We were fired up. The fans really came out today. So, I just felt good momentum from the start. Team felt, they looked loose. They looked fast with the way they were swinging, very aggressive, very disciplined at the plate.”
Everything went right for the Oklahoma Sooners on Sunday. Their Norman Regional sweep set up a showdown in Norman against UCF who went 49-12 on the season and won their regional over Villanova and Michigan.
But before we begin looking at the Knights, let’s take a look at how social media reacted after the Sooners 20-0 win over Texas A&M.
