Earlier this week, it was announced that Fox Sports will have the broadcasting rights to the mammoth showdown between the Texas Longhorns and Alabama Crimson Tide on Sept. 10, 2022. However, some fans were upset by the news because Fox typically airs the network’s weekly primetime game at noon eastern.
For starters, a mid-day kick-off in Texas in early September is brutal for both fans and players with an estimated 105-degree temperature on the field. Furthermore, these are two of the most prestigious football programs in all the land.
Texas fans have started a petition to make the week two game a night game, rather than the noon “primetime” slot for Fox. A primetime kick between these two would draw just about everyone.

This will be the first meeting between the two programs since the 2009 National Championship game.
