Bleacher Report suggests a trade that would send Kenrich Williams to the Bucks

Kenrich Williams only has one more year left on his current deal.

Bleacher Report’s Greg Swartz released an article recently that suggested one trade idea for all 30 NBA teams. The Oklahoma City Thunder were involved in two such trade proposals. The first one included the Thunder trading Kenrich Williams to the Milwaukee Bucks in exchange for Rayjon Tucker, 2022 second-round pick and a 2023 second-round pick.

“At 6’6” and 210 pounds, few players made a bigger defensive impact than Williams this past year, with the Thunder surrendering a whopping 13.5 fewer points per 100 possessions with him in the game. That figure ranked in the 98th percentile among all NBA players, per Cleaning the Glass.

Tucker is a 24-year-old shooting guard who has a better chance at minutes in OKC, with the Thunder ultimately making the trade to collect on the two second-round picks.”

Williams only has a year left on his current deal, but has stated his desire of retiring in Oklahoma City multiple times this season. The Thunder should ideally decide Williams’ future with team — whether with an extension or trade — instead of letting him enter a contract season.

Tucker, who went undrafted in 2019, hasn’t done much in his three seasons in the league. Being 24 years old already probably dampers any excitement of further development as well. The real prize of this trade scenario would be the two second-round picks.
