Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen won one trophy over the weekend only to tease another, more important one.
Members of the Bills joined safety Micah Hyde in downtown Buffalo for his annual charity softball game on Sunday. Allen was among those in attendance.
The event is actually more of a home run derby challenge for players and Allen took home the win. According to the Buffalo News, Allen hit four home runs, edging out fellow QB Matt Barkley and safety Jordan Poyer.
Allen accepted his award and upon being interviewed really got the people going.
Before raising his trophy over his head, Allen teased that the award he was holding was only a “placeholder for when we win the hardware in February.”
That specific chunk of metal that Allen had his mind on was the Vince Lombardi Trophy. The one better known as the one the Super Bowl winners get after winning the big game.
