No. 12 Tennessee opened its final Southeastern Conference series with a doubleheader win against No. 16 Auburn Saturday in Knoxville.
After being rained out Friday, Tennessee defeated the Tigers, 5-2, in the first game Saturday.
The Lady Vols won, 7-4, in game No. 2.
In game No. 1, Tennessee led 1-0 in the second inning on an RBI single by Ashley Morgan that plated pinch runner Katie Taylor.
The Lady Vols extended its advantage to 2-0 in second inning when Lair Beautae scored on an error after Amanda Ayala doubled.
Milloy hit a two-run double in the fourth inning. Ivy Davis hit a solo home run in the fifth inning.
Auburn scored one run in the fifth inning and tallied again in the seventh.
Ashley Rogers (9-5) earned the win, pitching a complete game. She surrendered two runs, four hits and one walk, with six strikeouts.
The Lady Vols (37-15, 14-8 SEC) completed the double header sweep and claimed the series over Auburn (39-13, 11-12 SEC) with a comeback win, 7-4.
Sophomore third baseman Zaida Puni went 3-for-3 with two home runs, two runs and four RBIs.
She had an RBI single in the first inning, a solo home run in the fourth and a two-run home run in the sixth.
Davis also hit a home run.
Tennessee’s Erin Edmoundaon (19-6) pitched a complete game. She yielded four runs and eight hits, while striking out six.
