Rams will not play an international game in 2022

The Rams will not play an international game next season after the league announced the five matchups outside the US

The Los Angeles Rams will not be leaving the United States next season. On Wednesday, the NFL announced the dates and teams for its five international games, and the Rams were not one of them.

There was a chance the Rams would play internationally in 2022 based on their road opponents, but they’ll be staying in the U.S. for all 17 regular-season games.

The Cardinals will host the 49ers in Mexico on Nov. 21, a prime-time game on Monday Night Football. Some thought the Rams would be selected to face the Cardinals in that one after their game in Mexico against the Chiefs was relocated in 2018.

The Packers were a possible opponent for the Rams in London, but the NFL scheduled the Giants to face Aaron Rodgers’ squad on Oct. 9 at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Peter King reported that the Rams told the NFL they wouldn’t mind facing the Packers in London if the league was planning to schedule their matchup late in the year at Lambeau Field.

The Buccaneers are also on the Rams’ list of road opponents in 2022, but that meeting won’t be in Germany. Instead, the Bucs will host the Seahawks in the first-ever regular season game in Germany.

So there was a chance the Rams could’ve played a game in any of the three countries, but the NFL went in a different direction.
