Bills’ Brandon Beane anticipates future NFL salary cap growth

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane on NFL salary cap on the Pat McAfee Show:

Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane knows the salary cap and knows it well.

In efforts to sign free agents and keep some of his own players under contract, Beane has been known to work deals around in various ways to make things fit. One of the latest examples of this was extending wide receiver Stefon Diggs.

Currently Buffalo has approximately $7.2 million in cap space, per Spotrac. The NFL’s limit for each team is approximately $208M.

But in the future, Beane thinks it’ll be easier to keep things under this. That’s simply because the GM said via the Pat McAfee Show he expects the cap to continue to climb after it went down due to COVID-19.

The specifics on how much? That is something Beane isn’t exactly too sure on, but you can take him at his own word.
