The Big Ten has historically been one of the premier conferences in college football when it comes to producing NFL talent. This year was a bit of a down year for the bigger schools and a rise to power for some others.
Penn State led the way this year, a crown previously held by Ohio State year after year, and in the process it become another recruiting tool for [autotag]James Franklin[/autotag]. When you can do what schools like Oklahoma, Alabama, and Florida can do where you can show recruits that you are sending players to the NFL you will get in better talent year after year.
Penn State already has a top recruiting class but apart from the angle of going to the NFL you can now show people they will compete against the best. With so many high drafted Big Ten players it will be good for everyone, a strong conference makes for stronger teams and this is case and point.
