On Monday evening, the semi-expected news that 4-star wide receiver Jurrion Dickey was committing to the Oregon Ducks finally came.
Dickey, who stands at 6-foot-2, 210 pounds, is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 8 receiver in the 2023 class, and No. 59 player overall. He has taken multiple visits to Eugene over the past few months, and been predicted by many recruiting experts to land with Oregon for quite a while.

While his addition to Oregon’s 2023 class is a big one, it still shows how much work needs to be done in this recruiting cycle. Before the verbal commitment from Dickey, the Ducks ranked No. 45 in the national recruiting ranking with commitments from just 4-star CB Cole Martin, and 3-star DL Tevita Pome’e. After Monday night’s news, Oregon jumped up to the No. 34 spot in the nation.
After the heroics from Dan Lanning and his staff allowed the Ducks to climb up to the No. 13 spot in the 2022 recruiting rankings, it may seem a bit underwhelming to have only a top-35 class thus far. However, there is still a ton of time for this coaching staff to get after it and land some major prospects this summer and fall.
