PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Bo Melton believes his little brother is poised for a breakout 2022 season.
A standout wide receiver at Rutgers, Melton is getting ready for the NFL draft where is being projected as a solid Day 3 selectio. Named 2020 Honorable Mention All-Big Ten (coaches and media) as well as Third Team All-Big Ten (Pro Football Focus) in 2022, Melton was one of the top wide receivers in the conference the past three seasons.
And his belief is that brother Max Melton, set to enter his third season as a starting cornerback at Rutgers, is poised for big things.
“All conference. I promise. Max is gonna be really good. He’s already showing it and I’m in the spring ball practices,” Bo told ‘Rutgers Wire’ in a recent interview.
“I’ve been to one and I just see how he was looking. I just know he’s going to be a really, really, really good cornerback. Personally, for me, I know anybody can testify to it, but he’s definitely right. He’s on his way.”
Max had 28 tackles and three interceptions a year ago. He is certainly a strong candidate to be All-Big Ten this season.

As brothers, Bo admits that there is definitely a strong competition with Max. He says that growing up and going against his brother helped developed him into a player that, in just a few short weeks, will be in the NFL.
“Yeah, because seeing my little brother he’s a big dude tall corner. So going against him all the time made me better and him going against me against a faster guy shifty guy too – and he’s fast also,” Bo said.
“Iron sharpens iron. So going against each other every day made us really competitive and made us want to win everything so kind of helped us in the long run, as you can see, like at Rutgers now and he’s doing very well for himself as well.”
Bo spoke in early April at the Morris County Card Show where he signed autographs and spoke afterward to the media. The event was held at the Embassy Suites in Parsippany.
