Charles Cross: Relative Athletic Score for new Seahawks left tackle

He has poor grades for size but is high in explosion and agility and has elite speed for his position.

The Seahawks waited until Russell Wilson was out of the building to prioritize pass protection, but better late than never.

By taking Mississippi State offensive tackle Charles Cross in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft, Seattle landed the prospect who’s supposed to be the best pass blocker in this class.

Succeeding in the NFL is a complicated mix of athleticism, dedication, film study, sheer competitive grit, coaching and a bit of good luck. For what it’s worth, Cross at least has a strong physical profile for his position.

According to the indispensable Kent Lee Platte, Cross’ Relative Athletic Score is a 7.58 out of 10. He has poor grades for size but is high in explosion and agility and has elite speed compared to contemporary OTs.
