Aidan Hutchinson is staying home.
The former Wolverine won’t have far to go for the start of his NFL career, as he was selected by the Detroit Lions with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft. Hailing from Plymouth and playing high school football in Dearborn, the trek to Ford Field is more of a commute than anything.
Of course, regardless of the team that picked him, considering that Hutchinson is the highest picked defensive player of all time out of Michigan, everyone in Ann Arbor is thrilled for him — none more than Jim Harbaugh and his teammates.
Michigan football tweeted out a video from Harbaugh, Cade McNamara, Kwity Paye (who was drafted in the first round by the Indianapolis Colts last year) and more celebrating his selection.
