Wyoming linebacker Chad Muma reportedly had a pre-2022 NFL draft top-30 visit with the Buffalo Bills. Earlier this month, ESPN’s Greg Cosell said that Muma was in Buffalo ahead of the event:

Muma, a senior, had ridiculous year in 2021. Amassing a whopping 142 tackles Muma also notched eight for loss, 1.5 sacks, three interceptions, and a fumble recovery.

At linebacker, the Bills do currently sport a defense with two starting spots. Tremaine Edmunds and Matt Milano fill those.

However, Sean McDermott’s defense does get creative with packages at times. If it required a third linebacker instead of slot cornerback on occasion, Muma could have a spot in Buffalo.

The Bills also released their “third” linebacker and backup to both Edmunds and Milano, AJ Klein, earlier this offseason in a salary cap move. Specifically, NFL.com notes Muma is a versatile player that could backup a few linebacker spots, potentially even pushing for more playing time down the road, and contribute on special teams.

Heading into the draft later this week, Muma is currently projected as a Day 2 pick. The Bills hold one selection in both the second and third rounds, respectively.
