The week of the 2022 NFL draft has arrived and to celebrate, Pro Football Focus sent the Buffalo Bills a new selection in their latest mock.
In this projection, the Bills opt to continuing adding in the trenches. The new piece comes to the offense via Texas A&M lineman Kenyon Green.
First, here’s how the football analytics outlet breaks down the pick:
PFF is a lot lower on Green than the media consensus and likely how the league views his NFL prospects. He’s one of the younger players entering the 2022 NFL Draft and will benefit significantly from NFL coaching when given the opportunity to play just one position (likely guard) at the next level. He has 1,098 career snaps played at left guard, 853 at right guard, 142 at right tackle and 81 at left tackle.
PFF only ranks Green as their 39th best prospect despite sending him to Buffalo at pick No. 25.
While PFF is a bit down on Green’s versatility, that’s a known thing the Bills love in players. That’s why Green should firmly be on Buffalo’s first-round radar at the draft.
The junior made 12 starts in 2021, seven at left guard, two at right tackle, two at right guard, and one at left tackle. He’s a former five-star recruit with 35 career starts at every position but center.
Green is described as having a physical, rugged playstyle with a NFL-ready frame. While the Bills might not need him to start right away, Green could be the next-man up for multiple position on the O-line.
Green is a touted run blocker but also had some penalty troubles last season. He took seven in his team’s first eight games.
In 2021, PFF handed Green a 79.8 overall grade.
