Texas had a lot of weaknesses in 2021, but one of their biggest issues on the defensive side of the ball was that they couldn’t rush the passer.

This is where TCU transfer Ochaun Mathis comes into play, as the Longhorns are in the mix for his services. It was reported by Horns247 that Mathis is among the handful of visitors in Austin this Easter weekend.
Mathis, who led TCU in sacks in both 2019 and 2020 while also being named to the Second Team All-Big 12 both years, is ranked as the No. 2 available transfer according to 247Sports’ transfer portal rankings.
He currently holds five crystal ball predictions in favor of Texas.
The EDGE rusher that so many programs would love to have announced that he will be deciding where he will finish his career at the end of this month. Aside from Texas, schools such as USC, Nebraska, Ole Miss, and Penn State are who he will be choosing from.
Texas fans are hopeful that the addition of his former head coach, Gary Patterson, will pay dividends in getting him to Austin for the 2022 season.
