Alabama transfer WR Agiye Hall to visit Texas this weekend

Texas has a chance to land one of the portal’s top pass catchers.

Just when we thought Texas’ wide receiver room couldn’t get any stronger, the Longhorns have found themselves in the mix for another highly touted transfer.

Former Alabama wide receiver Agiye Hall recently entered the transfer portal after what seemed to be a rocky tenure in Tuscaloosa.

Horns247 reported on Thursday that the former four-star prospect is set to visit Texas this weekend. Hall is ranked as the No. 5 available transfer according to 247Sports‘ transfer rankings.

Hall and the Texas staff have a pre-existing relationship as Texas’ current special teams coach, Jeff Banks, was his lead recruiter when he was at Alabama.

If the Longhorns are able to add Hall to their already impressive transfer class, he will had some much needed receiver depth outside of the big three of Xavier Worthy, Wyoming transfer Isaiah Neyor, and Jordan Whittington.

While Hall was regarded as one of the top receivers in the class of 2021, he struggled to see the field at Alabama as he caught four passes for 72 yards this past season.

He also seemed to have some growing up to do, as he had a controversial tweet about quitting the team after seeing little playing time in Alabama’s first few games, and was also suspended from the team as recent as last week that ended in his name being removed from Alabama’s roster.

If Hall can put all the off the field issues aside and buy into the new culture at Texas, which in a way will be influenced by that of Alabama’s, he can finally display his skillset that has many fans excited to see him.
