Crystal ball entered in favor of Texas for three-star EDGE Billy Walton

Texas and SMU appear to be the leaders in his recruitment.

Texas appears to be gaining more momentum on the recruiting trail, as several 247Sports crystal ball predictions have been entered in favor of the Longhorns this week.

Steve Sarkisian and his staff put together back-to-back recruiting weekends on the Forty Acres recently, which resulted in a commitment from three-star linebacker S’Maje Burrell and the progression of relationships with other key targets.

Earlier this week, Texas insider Mike Roach entered crystal ball predictions for four-star wide receiver Jaden Greathouse, four-star cornerback Jordan Matthews, and three-star edge Billy Walton.

Walton is rated the No. 31 edge in the 2023 recruiting class and the No. 56 overall prospect in the state of Texas, according to 247Sports.

While 247Sports shows the Longhorns as the favorite to land Walton at this point, On3’s recruiting prediction machine has both SMU and Texas tied with a 45.3% chance of landing the Dallas native.

As a junior in 2021, Walton recorded 12 sacks and helped lead South Oak Cliff High School to a 16-0 record and Texas 5A D-II state championship.
