The Denver Broncos had (or soon will have) Rutgers running back Isaih Pacheco visit their UCHealth Training Center for a pre-draft workout this month, according to Mike Kaye of the Pro Football Network.
Pacheco (5-10, 216 pounds) earned honorable mention All-Big Ten honors in 2021 after rushing 167 times for 647 yards and five touchdowns last season. He ran a 40-yard dash in 4.37 seconds and had a 33-inch vertical jump at the NFL combine earlier this offseason.
In four years (43 games) with the Scarlet Knights, Pacheco rushed 563 times for 2,442 yards and 18 touchdowns while adding 47 receptions for 249 yards and another score as a receiver out of the backfield.
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein has compared Pacheco to Mike Gillislee, who was a fifth-round pick in 2013 before going on to have a six-year career in the NFL.
Pacheco is expected to be a late-round prospect or undrafted free agent candidate. If selected or signed by the Broncos, he would likely compete for RB3 duties while fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster as a special teamer.
