Following Sunday’s game No. 3, junior outfielder Drew Gilbert discussed Tennessee’s performance and No. 1 ranking.
“Obviously, getting three wins here is tough,” Gilbert said. “It was a fun weekend, but every SEC opponent means the same thing in the long run.
“Being No. 1 is cool and all, but our end goal has nothing to do with a ranking. We try to play our best baseball every single day, we try to improve every single day. If we keep doing that, we’ll be in a good spot at the end of the year.”
Tennessee has won 19 consecutive games, a program record. The Vols have not trailed in a contest since the first inning against Rhode Island on March 13.
