When Von Miller was introduced to Buffalo as a member of the Bills following his decision to sign with the team, he made note of his former club plenty.
As reports indicate, it was between the Bills and Los Angeles Rams for his services. In the end, Buffalo had a better offer and here we are.
But it was no easy decision. Miller said it felt like he “broke up with his girlfriend and she never did anything to me.”
Despite the heartbreak, his “ex” in the Rams still appreciates him.
From the NFL owners meetings Los Angeles head coach Sean McVay noted Miller’s importance to his team in 2021. The Rams had traded for him during last season and Miller helped bring a Super Bowl title to Los Angeles.
But the coach said Miller also made players around him better, and predicted he’s going to continue to do that in Buffalo.
“(Miller’s) that type of guy, those igniters that raise everybody around them,” McVay said via the Buffalo News. “He’s a great teammate, too. He’s a special player, obviously, but he’s just a special type of person, and he’ll do a great job.”
McVay also mentioned Miller’s presence is going to be felt off the field.
“He’s a great dude, number one. I was so impressed with what a great teammate he was,” McVay said. “He was one of those guys that he treats everybody so well. The equipment staff, the PR (staff) – everybody’s gonna love Von Miller.”
Considering the youth the Bills have at Miller’s position with Greg Rousseau and others, they’ll hope the All-Pro’s traits can rub off in Buffalo.
