No. 2 Texas showed a gritty response on Sunday after heartbreaking losses in back-to-back games. The Longhorns dominated the series finale against No. 16 Texas Tech winning by a run-rule score of 12-1.
Lucas Gordon gave Texas a magnificent start on the mound to set the tone. The sophomore lefty held the Red Raiders to just one run across six innings in the most important start of his career. Gordon will play a major role in the starting rotation the rest of the season.
The Texas offense continued its hot stretch with 12 more runs in the game. Mitchell Daly and Skyer Messinger got the ball rolling with back-to-back home runs in the fifth inning. Those shots opened up the floodgates for the rest of the lineup.
One heck of an outing from @lucas_gordon.

The Longhorns would explode for a seven-run seventh inning aided by a three-run home run from Trey Faltine, No. 8 of the season for him.
