There is a renewed surge of energy surrounding Texas’ football program ahead of the 2022 season.
After going 5-7 in Steve Sarkisian’s first season, the doubts of hiring the wrong coach for a third time began to resurface around the program. However, the program seems to be rejuvenated with positivity after a huge offseason of roster and coaching additions.
The Longhorns brought in the No. 5 recruiting class in the country, a top 10 class of transfers, and also added three significant hires in wide receivers coach Brennan Marion, running backs coach Tashard Choice, and adding former TCU head coach Gary Patterson to the staff.
The players that remained with the team seem to be all in when it comes to the new culture, as prior to the first practice of spring ball the players seemed very much engaged.

This will be a huge spring for Texas, as important position battles like that of the quarterback battle between Ohio State transfer Quinn Ewers and Hudson Card headline a slew of interesting spring happenings.
With the Longhorns finally having the same system in place on both sides of the ball for the first time in a few seasons, there should be growth due to the much needed familiarity and consistency.
With the Big 12 very much up for grabs, Longhorns fans are hopeful that a good spring can be parlayed into a successful season.
