One of the top receivers to watch in the upcoming NFL draft is Arkansas Razorbacks wideout Treylon Burks.
After racking up nearly 2,400 yards and 19 touchdowns, the Razorbacks’ top offensive weapon decided to forego any remaining eligibility and make the jump to the professional ranks.
Burks was recently mocked to the Detroit Lions with pick 01.32 in PFF’s latest three-round mock draft. He was the only former Arkansas football player mentioned as projected picks over the first two days of the 2022 NFL draft.
What PFF Says…
The Lions now remake their receiving room with one speedster in D.J. Chark and one power forward in Burks. Burks has been one of the best YAC receivers in the country, averaging 9.3 yards after the catch per reception last year.
Burks was selected as the second pick of the first round for the Lions after they are projected to take North Carolina State offensive lineman Ikem Ekwonu with the second overall selection. The Lions would also load up with running back Breece Hall and linebacker Damone Clark.
Detroit has ample work to do as they look to climb from the doldrums of the NFC North. Burks would be an immediate boost to the wide receiver room with Chark in hopes of giving Jared Goff all the weapons he will need in 2022.
