Giants’ Tyrod Taylor won’t say he’s not the starter

The New York Giants introduced QB Tyrod Taylor on Thursday and he was very vague when it came to his role with the team.

The New York Giants officially signed quarterback Tyrod Taylor on Thursday and immediately introduced him to local reporters.

As anticipated, one of the first questions Taylor fielded was about his role with the Giants. Was he signed to be a backup? Was he signed to be a starter? Will he compete with or mentor Daniel Jones?

Always the professional, Taylor responded without directly answering any of the questions with the exception of one: Will he mentor Jones and others in the quarterback room?

Yes.

As it relates to the Giants, Taylor felt comfortable with the team after spending a season with general manager Joe Schoen in Buffalo (2017).

More to come…
