The pressure on quarterback Quinn Ewers was always going to be high due to his perfect rating as a high school senior, but now that he is a Longhorn it is likely even higher.
He not only has to fend off Hudson Card for the starting role, but assuming he is able to do so, he will be the next quarterback tasked with attempting to bring Texas back to national relevancy.
On top of this, the Longhorns need a big season out of their quarterback whether it be Card or Ewers just to help get the Steve Sarkisian era headed in the right direction after going 5-7 in his first season as the head coach.
Ewers seems to be working extremely hard towards winning the starting job, and was even spotted throwing passes during Texas’ spring break in order to help prepare for his crucial spring position battle with Card.

If Ewers can live up to the hype he accumulated as a high school recruit, the Longhorns may finally have a chance to be relevant on a national scale.
