Roger McCreary talks NFL Combine on Good Morning Football

Roger McCreary discussed his experience at the NFL Combine and his interception on Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow in 2019.

Former Auburn cornerback Roger McCreary made an appearance on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football on Tuesday as he prepares for the upcoming NFL Draft.

McCreary, who is a projected second-round pick, talked about a few different topics on the show, beginning with his experience at the NFL Combine. McCreary only participated in the 40-yard-dash, where he ran a 4.5.

“Just growing up as a little kid, just watching the Combine, it’s just always been a dream come true to be finally in it,” McCreary said. “To see the whole system of each team, how they operate, it was just great to learn from them at a professional level.”

McCreary didn’t just talk about his preparation for the NFL, however. The Good Morning Football crew went back to his college days to ask about one of McCreary’s breakout plays at Auburn when he picked off current NFL quarterback Joe Burrow during his first collegiate start with the Tigers in 2019. LSU would go on to win that game 23-20.

“Going into that game, I was a little nervous, because that was my first time ever starting,” McCreary said. “Going into that game, I was trying to give them all I got. Once I made that play right there, that just opened up a lot of people’s eyes that I could truly play. I felt like I had my in.”

McCreary will participate in Auburn’s pro day for draft-eligible players, which will take place next Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. CT.
