No. 13 Tennessee closed out its regular season with a 78-74 Southeastern Conference victory over No. 15 Arkansas (24-7, 13-5 SEC) Saturday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Volunteers (23-7, 14-4) opened a 50-29 lead over the Razorbacks by halftime.
UT never trailed in the second half, but Arkansas outscored the Vols, 45-29, in the second half as many of their players were plagued with foul trouble.
The Vols will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming SEC Tournament, which begins Wednesday in Tampa, Florida. Tennessee will play its first postseason game Friday at 6 p.m. EST. UT went 16-0 in Knoxville this season.
The Vols had four players record double figures in the scoring column against Arkansas.
Santiago Vescovi and Kennedy Chandler each scored 15 points. Zakai Zeigler finished with 13 points, six assists and five rebounds. Josiah-Jordan James had 12 points and seven rebounds before fouling out of the contest.
Arkansas’ JD Notae led all scorers with 20 points. Stanley Umude and Chris Lykes added 15 points each for the Razorbacks.
