The Boise State Broncos lost some of “The Blue” luster in 2021 with three consecutive losses at home, finishing 3-3 on the season.

If Boise State has a record like that in 2022, it will be disappointing but not a terrible outcome.  With pretty much all of the top teams in the MW coming to Boise, it would not be a shock for the Broncos to drop a game or two (or three).  After the home opener against UT-Martin the schedule features two back-to-back home games between San Diego State and Fresno State, and Colorado State and BYU, with a bye week and a road trip to Colorado Springs, mixed in for good measure.

Challenging runs of three out of the first four, along with two of the final three on the road,  while getting SDSU, Fresno State, and Nevada from the West Division, Boise State has to have the most demanding schedule in the conference. The only relief is that they are getting most of the most challenging games at home, which boosts confidence.

SP+ Predicts Boise State’s 2022 Football Record

Toughest Stretch:  at Air Force, vs. Colorado State, vs. BYU.  It’s always tough to play at Air Force and following that up with a much improved Colorado State, and BYU will be rough.

Easiest Stretch: at New Mexico, vs. UT-Matin, at UTEP.  The Broncos beat UTEP and New Mexico by a combined 91-13 last season and have their home opener against an FCS team between those two games. This should be the hands-down easiest part of their schedule.

Win Confidence (Most-Least):

UT-Martin

New Mexico

Nevada

UTEP

Wyoming

Oregon State

Utah State

Colorado State

Air Force

Fresno State

BYU

San Diego State

Preliminary projected Record: 10-2
