Bill Connelly’s first edition of SP+ recently came out with its first edition of where teams are ranked heading into the 2022 season. Now we will use those numbers to predict the record of each Mountain West school, and then determine who is expected to be the very early champion.

Boise State’s SP+ initial ranking comes in at No. 43 and the highest rated Mountain West team.

The initial rankings put Boise State as a favorite in 10 of their 12 games and all but one Mountain West game with the home game against Fresno State being the one league game where they are the underdog.
