It can be tough to pick up the slang of a new place for anybody, especially in a place like Philadelphia.
76ers guard Matisse Thybulle is in his third season with the Sixers and admits there is plenty of lingo he is still trying to master. This includes words such as “jawn,” “hoagie” and “wooder.”
Thybulle sat down with Red Bull which quizzed him on all things Philadelphia slang. He did a pretty solid job, all things considered. He was only tripped up by “ard.” He did get the other words, however, even the phrase “down the shore” that can confuse some people.

As the Sixers resume their season Friday against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Thybulle must continue working on his 3-point shot to be a better shooter next to new addition James Harden.
