The biggest moments for a future NFL draftee’s career are still to come. The combine then Pro Day, potentially individual workouts, interviews with teams and then the NFL Draft in April.
For many projected first round prospects, their resume is already known, some of them won’t even go through the complete process. That will most likely be the scenario for Notre Dame safety Kyle Hamilton. He’s put together enough film that teams know exactly what they’ll be getting if they have the opportunity to draft him.
Most teams won’t get that opportunity if ESPN’s Todd McShay is correct (insider). He projects Hamilton will be selected third overall by the Houston Texans. McShay notes that their “secondary has been abysmal” and Justin Reid is an impending free agent. He calls the former Irish safety a “foundational star” and could impact the Texans defense multiple ways.
We know that Hamilton can make plays all over the field, the biggest question is where will he be doing that next. It might be Houston, it could be somewhere else, but what we do know is that Hamilton will be an impact player at the next level.
