Following the 2022 Senior Bowl, Pro Football Focus sent the Buffalo Bills a player that shined at the yearly event in a recent NFL mock draft.
The football analytics outlet had the Bills selecting defensive tackle Devonte Wyatt from Georgia. Their praise placed upon him is pretty huge as well.
Here’s how PFF broke down the pick:
25. BUFFALO BILLS: DI DEVONTE WYATT, GEORGIA
Another could-be steal of the draft, Wyatt has the get-off and pass-rush acumen that teams covet from their interior defensive linemen. His hand technique is advanced for his age, and he finally found his footing this season, as his grade improved from 72.9 in 2020 to 89.8 in 2021.

Plus, in the middle of Buffalo’s defensive line, a tackle addition could be a smart move. The Bills have a noted pending free agent there in Harrison Philips and a decision to make on the future of Star Lotulelei.
However, both Phillips and Lotulelei play at the one-tech position. Wyatt seems more destined to line up at the three-tech currently held by Ed Oliver. The Bills do run a big rotation along their D-line, but Oliver is likely going to eat up a lot of snaps there next season after his breakout in 2020.
If Wyatt could potentially translate into a strong piece next to Oliver, then that tandem could still be a positive one for the Bills. Or at least more of one.
