No. 18 Tennessee extended its Southeastern Conference winning streak to six games Wednesday, defeating Mississippi State (14-9, 5-5 SEC), 72-63, at Humphrey Coliseum in Starkville, Mississippi.
The Vols (17-6, 8-3 SEC), who have now won six of its last seven games, opened a 16-2 lead in the contest.
Tennessee had four players post double figures in the scoring column as Kennedy Chandler and Josiah-Jordan James shared game-high totals with 18 points each.
Santiago Vescovi and Zakai Zeigler scored 11 points each for the Vols.
Vescovi had seven points and five rebounds, while Chandler had five rebounds and three assists.
Iverson Molinar led Mississippi State with 16 points. Garrison Brooks scored 15 and B.J. Jeffries finished with 13.
