No. 22 Tennessee (15-6, 6-3 SEC) was victorious in its return to conference play, defeating Texas A&M, (15-7, 4-5 SEC) Tuesday at Thompson-Boling Arena.
The Vols never trailed against Texas A&M and posted its most productive offensive effort in SEC play. Tennessee had five players post double figures in the scoring column.
Kennedy Chandler led Tennessee with 16 points, which led 43-35 at halftime. Chandler totaled seven assists.
Olivier Nkamhoua recorded 15 points and seven rebounds. Josiah-Jordan James and Zakai Zeigler had 14 points each. James had eight rebounds and Zeigler finished with three assists.
Santiago Vescovi added 13 points, five assists and three rebounds for the Vols.
Texas A&M’s Wade Taylor IV led all scorers with 19 points. Quenton Jackson had 14 points for the Aggies.
