Several assistants have come and gone under Alabama football head coach Nick Saban. Most of them go on to be the head man elsewhere, but many others simply take promotions elsewhere higher up the proverbial food chain of coaching.
While Alabama still has hold of current special teams coordinator Drew Svoboda, who also coaches tight ends, it was reported that Ole Miss’ special teams coordinator Coleman Hutzler has been hired by Saban and the Crimson Tide.
It is not yet clear what role Hutzler will fill upon his arrival, but his previous experience includes occupying a role as co-defensive coordinator at Texas and coaching both special teams and linebackers at South Carolina (2016-19), Boston College (2015), Florida (2014, 2010-11) and New Mexico (2012-13).
