Washington releases WR Antonio Gandy-Golden

Washington made several roster moves ahead of Sunday’s game against the Eagles, including the release of a former fourth-round pick.

In preparation for Sunday’s Week 17 game against Philadelphia, the Washington Football Team made several roster moves Saturday, including releasing 2020 fourth-round draft choice WR Antonio Gandy-Golden.

Washington believed they had obtained a receiver with size and one who could be a real threat in the red zone, when they drafted the 6-foot-4 Gandy-Golden out of Liberty University.

However, AGG in 2020 was targeted only seven times for one reception, and in this 2021 season, the former Liberty Flames receiver appeared in only four games (weeks 5-8) He only saw action on 8, 3, 6 and 3 snaps and was not targeted a single time. AGG is the first WFT draft choice from the 2020 draft to be released.

They also elevated G Deion Calhoun and P Ryan Winslow from the practice squad.
