While Steph Curry has built an impressive trophy case that includes Most Valuable Player awards, scoring titles and NBA championships. Yet, the Golden State Warriors guard has uncharacteristically struggled during Christmas day contests.
Despite averaging 24.3 points on his career, Curry was only averaging 13.1 points in eight games on Dec. 25. Last season against the Milwaukee Bucks on Christmas, Curry tallied just 19 points in a loss.
On the 2021 edition of Christmas day, Curry snapped his slump with an impressive performance against the Phoenix Suns in primetime.
In a battle of Western Conference heavyweights, Curry led the Warriors with a game-high 33 points on 10-of-27 shooting from the floor in 37 minutes. The Most Valuable Player candidate added six assists, four rebounds and three steals in Golden State’s statement win over Phoenix, 116-107.
With Santa watching, Curry buried five triples on 16 attempts from beyond the arc.

After getting right on Christmas, Curry and the Warriors will have two days off before meeting the reigning MVP Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets at Chase Center on Tuesday.
