With COVID-19 numbers rising around the association, the Golden State Warriors will be down another player in the league’s health and safety protocol.
On Wednesday, Damion Lee became the latest member of the Warriors to be listed in the league’s health and safety protocol. Lee joins his teammates Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole in the COVID-19 protocol.
All three players are listed as out for Golden State’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies on Thursday at San Francisco’s Chase Center.

Damion Lee has entered health and safety protocols. Third Warriors player, joining Jordan Poole and Andrew Wiggins. Lee started in Poole’s place last game and scored 18. All three out vs Memphis tomorrow. So is Andre Iguodala. Knee swelling.

With Poole out against the Sacramento Kings on Monday, Lee drew the start at shooting guard for the Warriors. The veteran sharpshooter tallied 18 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field with five rebounds in 30 minutes. Lee is averaging 8.4 points on 43.8% shooting from the floor in 20.8 minutes per game this season.
With three players in the health and safety protocol, the Warriors used the newly announced COVID-19 hardship exception to sign guard Quinndary Weatherspoon to a 10-day contract. Weatherspoon will join Golden State’s thin backcourt with Steph Curry, Gary Payton II, Moses Moody, Jeff Dowtin Jr. and Chris Chiozza.
