Georges Niang enters health protocols, out for Sixers vs. Heat

Philadelphia 76ers forward Georges Niang has entered the health and safety protocols and is out against the Miami Heat.

The recent wave of players entering the health and safety protocols in the NBA has not avoided the Philadelphia 76ers. While the Sixers dealt with it heavily earlier in the season, they are getting another round of it on Wednesday.

As the team gets set to take on the Miami Heat, they got news that Georges Niang would be entering the protocols and he is out for the matchup. Niang is one of the team’s most important bench pieces so seeing him enter the protocols is tough for the team at the moment.

Also, Furkan Korkmaz has come down with a non-COVID illness and he is questionable for the matchup. If Niang and Korkmaz can’t go, that hurts Philadelphia’s depth in a huge way considering Seth Curry is dealing with right shoulder soreness.

The Sixers will have an opportunity to bounce back against the Heat who are also dealing with a slew of injuries of their own. Tipoff from the Wells Fargo Center is set for 7 p.m. EST.
