Former Falcons RB Wayne Gallman claimed by Vikings

Gallman, who previously served as Atlanta’s third running back, has been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Vikings.

Prior to the Falcons’ Week 14 victory over the Panthers, the team waived running back Wayne Gallman and signed Qadree Ollison to the active roster in his place.

Gallman, who previously served as Atlanta’s third running back behind Mike Davis and Cordarrelle Patterson, was been claimed off waivers by the Minnesota Vikings on Monday.

Gallman had appeared in six games this season for Atlanta, rushing for 104 yards on 28 carries. He also had one reception for 21 receiving yards.

Ollison had five carries for 23 yards during Sunday’s win over the Panthers, but also fumbled the ball. After the game, Falcons head coach Arthur Smith said he wasn’t concerned about the fumble and has faith in Ollison.

In other roster news, Erik Harris is out for the season with a torn pectoral muscle and three players landed on the reserve/COVID-19 list Monday.
