Did Bears WR Allen Robinson check out during Packers game?

It looks like Bears WR Allen Robinson is ready for free agency.

It’s safe to say at this point that wide receiver Allen Robinson isn’t returning to the Chicago Bears next season. And in case we needed any proof, Robinson’s questionable effort in Sunday night’s loss to the Green Bay Packers clarified that.

Robinson made his return to the starting lineup Sunday night after missing the previous three games with a hamstring injury. But he was wholly ineffective, as has been the case all season, managing just two catches for 14 yards on six targets.

But there’s an interesting video circulating around the Internet, which shows Robinson appearing to give up on a play where quarterback Justin Fields is scrambling downfield late in the game.

In all fairness, Robinson is returning from a hamstring injury, which sidelined him for a month, and it could’ve limited him. But that video certainly makes it look like, at least on that play, it was a lack of effort.

One of the storylines this season has been Robinson’s lack of chemistry with Fields, which has been puzzling considering Fields is starting to develop a nice rapport with guys like receiver Darnell Mooney and tight end Cole Kmet.

As Robinson is headed on his way out, the Bears need to make wide receiver a priority this offseason, be it in free agency and/or the NFL draft, where they need some weapons for their young quarterback.
