HALFTIME REPORT: Alabama up on No. 14 Houston 44-41 at the half

This is must-see TV! Bama hoops looks solid!

Alabama (7-1) is facing its second ranked opponent in as many games tonight as they take on No. 14 Houston (8-1) in Tuscaloosa. It’s the fifth home game of the year for Nate Oats’ squad, with a record of 4-0 to show so far this season.

The Crimson Tide have gotten off to a pretty good start offensively. They’ve shot 57% from the floor, including 37.5% from three.

It’s been a great day from the charity stripe, with 17 of 20 going down for a mark of 85%.

They’re led in scoring by sophomore forward Juwan Gary with 16 points. He’s also collected three boards on the night.

Jaden Shackelford and JD Davison have done a masterful job on the boards defensively, accounting for five each through the first half. Shackelford has six points while Davison has two.

The only thing negative I can say about the first half is the turnover issue. The Tide turned it over nine times in the first 20.

Defensively, Alabama has been satisfactory. They’ve allowed 42% shooting and 35% from three.

The Crimson Tide is looking good so far, but it has the potential to blow this game up and win big. Look for Alabama to clean up the turnover problem and look sharp out of the locker room for half two.
