LOOK: Texas commits Brenen Thompson, Derrick Brown arrive for big recruiting weekend

Texas is putting their best foot forward in attempt to close out the 2022 cycle on a high note.

To say Saturday is a big recruiting day for Texas would be an understatement.

Much of the attention is centered around former five-star quarterback and the nation’s No. 1 signal-caller, Quinn Ewers, visiting Texas on Saturday. The buzz from Ewers considering the Longhorns has brought several other commits, former players, and blue chip recruits to campus as well.

Former Texas quarterback Sam Ehlinger is enjoying a bye week in the NFL and is expected to be in Austin to help recruit. Current Texas commits Brenen Thompson and Derrick Brown, arguably two of the most vocal Texas pledges in the 2022 class, will also be present for support.

Aside from Ewers, the Longhorns will find out where they stand with five-star offensive tackle Kelvin Banks, who is also expected to be in Austin on Saturday, when he makes an announcement at 1 p.m. CT.
