Joel Embiid joins Charles Barkley, Wilt Chamberlain in Sixers history

Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid is doing things not seen since the days of Charles Barkley and Wilt Chamberlain.

Philadelphia 76ers star big man Joel Embiid has had a terrific season despite all of the changes and the somewhat slow start with his shooting. The big fella is averaging 24.5 points, 11.1 rebounds and 4.3 assists while helping the Sixers stay above .500 despite not having Ben Simmons and a host of other issues.

Over the previous two games, Embiid has been especially terrific. The big fella went to work and totaled 75 points and 23 rebounds while guiding the Sixers to two wins over the Charlotte Hornets on the road. Philadelphia has won three games in a row thanks to Embiid taking games over when needed.

This is the ninth time Embiid has totaled at least 75 points and 20 rebounds over a two-game span. The only other Sixers to do so at least nine times are two Hall of Famers: Charles Barkley and Wilt Chamberlain.

Embiid and the Sixers look to keep the winning feeling going on Thursday when they host the Utah Jazz. This will be a two-game homestand before hitting the road again on Monday to take on the Memphis Grizzlies.
