Denver Nuggets rookie Nah’Shon “Bones” Hyland is nearing a return to the court after spending the past week in the NBA’s health and safety protocols, according to Katy Winge of Altitude TV.
Hyland was first added to the health and safety protocols on Dec. 1, along with Austin Rivers and Bol Bol. Hyland and Bol were upgraded to doubtful on the Nuggets’ injury report for Wednesday’s game versus the New Orleans Pelicans while Rivers is still out.
The timeline for players to return from the health and safety protocols following a positive coronavirus test is 10 days. However, players can be cleared sooner if they return two consecutive negative PCR tests at least 24 hours apart.
Bones Hyland has been upgraded to doubtful for tomorrow’s game vs the Pelicans. He’s getting closer to being cleared.
Nikola Jokić has been added to the Nuggets injury report with a right forearm contusion. He is probable.

Hyland missed two games before entering the health and safety protocols with an ankle injury but returned on Nov. 29 to score a career-high 19 points in a win over the Miami Heat. Rivers had also started to come around, averaging 7.3 points over his last seven games.
Of course, the Nuggets started the 2021-22 campaign without Jamal Murray and recently learned that PJ Dozier (knee) and Michael Porter Jr. (back) are expected to miss the rest of the season. They have had just four healthy guards available once Hyland and Rivers went out.
Denver has maintained ground on its seven-game road trip by splitting the first four games. With Hyland and Bol nearing a return, they look to have some reinforcements on the way and that should give them a boost heading into the final three games on their trek.
